Eclipse Interior Photos
The Eclipse interior feature standing headroom, with three doubles bunks, a big galley and heads compartment. The interior can be modified to suit your own requirements providing the main bulkheads are not moved, but please ask before making major changes!
These photos are mainly of a strip plank cedar home built Eclipse
I made my saloon table slightly differently, as it was a "draw leaf". But it proved very expensive and time consuming to make, so although it worked well I wouldn't recommend it to others. The advantage was that you didn't need to move your legs when opening the table right out, nor take 'stuff" off the table when folding it
So this shows my table in the shut position
and this when it's opened out
which gave a lot of space, for Christmas lunch for example
Headroom in the saloon seating area is often limited on smaller catamarans. The two at the back are both 6ft2in tall (1900mm) so plenty of room for all, even for a game of dominos in the San Blas
Each aft bunk is a comfortable double with good sitting headroom and plenty of storage for liveaboards
Forward of the bunk is a standing/dressing area with a "proper" vanity unit, seen here in the closed position
and folded down
In the starboard hull is the galley with a bunk forward (most builders fit a fridge under)
an eye level oven fits under the seat backs, above, and below on my own Eclipse
Note lots of storage for both small and big items
The heads compartment with shower is in the port hull. Note this builder separated the two, I prefer a more open plan
Although most people now use chart plotters a chart table is still really useful, even if it is only used as an "office" (just visible bottom left) On the other side of the companionway door is a wet locker and a seat used for putting on boots/shoes. Doubles as a battery box
This is full size with chart storage in the drawer. Instruments fit on the top shelf, inside, yet visible from the helm, note sliding window
