Sagitta's rudders are a bit small, especially if you have keels rather than daggerboards

So I recommend lengthening them by 150mm. Use the same rudder as shown on the plan template but then just extend the leading and trailing edges 150mm. No need to change the stock position or diameter

===========================================

The channel for the daggerboard ropes, see in this sketch should be well rounded 40x20mm (eg 2in x 1in flat) so the rope uphaul doesn't jam. NOTE: the daggerboard case shown in the photos was not made to plan, the builder made the channels too narrow.

The actual case transverse position and angle to the vertical is non critical. The more angled the more interior room. The less the angle the easier to make the lower joint to the hull. Bear in mind that the daggerboard must not foul the lifelines when raised.

However it is essential that the board is fitted exactly parallel to the boat centreline both at the bottom and at the top. Otherwise it will be twisted and there will be extra drag as the board will not align with the water flow.

The lower pulley in the board must be positioned exactly in line with the channel or the ropes, and thus board, will jam in the slot. The pulley can be positioned so that the bottom of the board lines up with the hull exit, it does not need to be clear of the water when raised.

The lower back of the case needs to have extra reinforcing, extending up to the waterline as the inner side of the lower part of the case has a lot of wear.
